Thanks for registering for the toolkit, we hope you gain useful and interesting information and will use it to enhance the knowledge and skills of beekeepers, so helping them to understand honey bees better and enjoy the craft more. The toolkit will take some time to develop, as features will be added when they become available, requests from teachers and when time permits, hence the reason to register, so we can alert updates.

This toolkit has been developed to help all those involved in teaching beekeeping, that is teachers, demonstrators, mentors, apiary managers/team or committee members/trustees who may not be directly involved in teaching, but need to understand what they are trying to achieve, so they can help and support them.

As stated elsewhere, much of the information is freely available, but we have collated it into a toolkit to help teachers and those involved in teaching. BIBBA recognises the level of commitment and dedication displayed by many who help others learn the craft, often in difficult circumstances, so we are trying to make it easy for them.

The initial purpose was to help beekeepers to understand locally adapted and varroa resistant honey bees better, but following discussions with users, it has been quickly realised that to do so, it has been necessary to increase the scope to include information to help better understanding of what some may not be familiar with.

There are references to material that may not be generated by BIBBA, but to the best of our knowledge it is freely available and copyright free. Where appropriate, we have sought permission to use. We suggest providing appropriate links in teaching material and on websites.

Below, you will find links to various topics.
